– Bedroom Tax, Birmingham

Maggie, in her council flat in Moseley, Birmingham. She was asked to pay bedroom tax for one room, which she can't pay. She downsized four years ago to a flat in a rough neighbourhood from which her and her son moved into this flat three years ago. Her son has now moved out. Maggie is 61 and unemployed, she has been working in catering and is unlikely to find a job at her age. She is supposed to bring up £13 for the extra room per week. She could also not afford another move.
